The Farmec 2 Bale Trailing Feeder R2-1 is engineered with a uniquely self-loading design that sets it apart from many conventional feeders, with its specially shaped forks ‘cradling’ each bale as the tines slide smoothly underneath to make wrap removal quick and effortless.A robust 3” bore loading ram supports the loading tine, giving tractors of all sizes the power needed to manage even the heaviest bales, while the self-loading system also enables the operator to conveniently transport a second bale to waiting stock. To further enhance ease of use, a newly introduced variable-height tow-eye ensures that the loading tines always approach the bale at the ideal angle, regardless of the tractor’s drawbar height. The heavy-duty 2" pitch chain, paired with welded RHS floor bars, delivers dependable bi-directional feeding and exceptionally smooth running with minimal torque demand, allowing material to be fed off either side, an invaluable advantage on steep terrain or when handling rota-cut bales that tend to fall apart. With a proven breaking strength of 6,800 lbs, this chain contributes significantly to the machine’s durability, which is further reinforced by 40mm bearings, full-length driveshafts, and a fully welded 125 x 75 x 5mm RHS chassis forming the foundation of its heavy-duty build.
The strong “A” frame drawbar prevents cracking even after thousands of bales, and a 70mm jack makes hitching straightforward for the operator. True to the Farmec design philosophy, all feeders in this range offer bi-directional feeding, allowing operators to unroll quickly with the swath or tease material more slowly against it. The powerful shredder system ensures that even the tightest, crustiest bales are efficiently broken apart, thanks to its aggressive spiked drum and non-blocking, self-sweeping comb. The durable 1.6mm Corten 350G steel floor, complete with four rub bars, complements a suite of premium components, including 2-wire hydraulic hoses, a high-torque American-made Parker hydraulic motor, and a large axle fitted with flotation wheels, resulting in a feeder designed for long-lasting performance, strength, and versatility across demanding farm environments.
