Description
The Farmec 2 Bale Trailing Feeder R2-0 is purpose-built to offer exceptional strength, efficiency, and convenience, with every aspect of its design focused on making bale feeding faster and easier for the operator.
All models in the two-bale trailing range are uniquely self-loading, featuring specially designed forks that cradle the bale securely while the tines slide underneath, allowing the wrap to be removed with minimal effort. The loading tine is powered by a high-load 3-inch bore loading ram, giving tractors of all sizes the capability to lift and handle heavy bales with confidence. Once the first bale is loaded, the self-loading fork system also allows a second bale to be carried to the stock waiting for feed. A newly added variable-height tow-eye ensures the loading tines always approach the bale at the optimal angle, regardless of the tractor’s drawbar height, improving loading efficiency across different setups.
At the heart of the R2-0’s performance is its heavy-duty 2-inch pitch floor chain with welded RHS bars, providing smooth, reliable operation with minimal torque demand while enabling true bi-directional feeding. This is particularly useful on uneven country or when handling rota-cut bales that may break apart. With a proven breaking strain of 6,800 lbs, the chain has become a trusted component in demanding feeding environments. The feeder’s durability is further enhanced by 40 mm bearings, full-length drive shafts, and a fully welded 125 x 75 x 5 mm RHS chassis, all forming the backbone of its rugged construction. The heavy-duty A-frame drawbar delivers outstanding strength and resists cracking even after thousands of bales, while a 70 mm jack makes hitching convenient and secure.
As with all Farmec feeders, the R2-0 provides true bi-directional feeding, allowing operators to feed off either side of the machine to suit terrain, paddock layout, or weather conditions. A non-rusting 1.6 mm Corten 350G steel floor, complete with four rub bars, complements the robust design, along with practical high-performance features such as two-wire hydraulic hoses, a powerful high-torque American Parker motor, a large axle, and flotation tyres for superior stability and smooth travel in challenging conditions.
