Description
The Contractor range of trailers is engineered to an exceptionally high standard, going well beyond what many manufacturers consider “heavy duty.”These trailers are purpose-built for intensive, high-output work, capable of shifting 12 tonnes of material every 15 minutes, operating 12 hours a day, seven days a week without compromise. Every model in the CT range features a fast-tipping body powered by multi-stage hydraulic rams, achieving an impressive 60-degree tip angle while using a minimal 27 litres of hydraulic oil, ensuring efficiency and reliability in heavy-duty operation. The trailer’s full RHS chassis combined with a single-beam drawbar delivers outstanding structural strength while allowing a maximum turning circle for manoeuvrability. Each unit is fitted with a heavy-duty walking-beam tandem axle, oscillating on a continuous 75 mm high-tensile pin, supported by six greaseable bushes centrally lubricated as standard, providing durability and ease of maintenance.
Customers can choose between two body types. The mono lift-off one-piece sides allow flexibility, enabling the trailer to be converted into a flatbed for alternative tasks, while the fully welded monocoque “bathtub” body is designed for continuous, high-volume bulk haulage. Both body styles include fixed headboards with extension rails for added versatility. Tailgates are fully removable on all configurations and can be fitted with a full hydraulic up-and-over door, a standard top-hinged door, or a double-swing door, depending on operational needs.
For seasonal silage transport, an optional silage kit is available, supplied either as a one-piece lift-off assembly or individual bolt-together panels. This kit incorporates a front mesh window, which can optionally fold down, and full rear doors with a centrally positioned one-third mesh section, making it easier and safer to reverse the trailer when empty.
The trailer’s wheel options are versatile to suit different operational requirements. The standard 15R x 22.5 tyres are ideal for road work, while 500/45 x 22.5 flotation tyres are a suitable swap-over option for softer ground. At the point of order, trailers can also be fitted with 500/60 x 22.5 tyres, and for radial options, 550/45R x 22.5 or the larger 560/60R x 22.5 tyres are available, providing excellent performance, flotation, and durability across a wide range of terrains.
