            Description

            The Contractor range of trailers is engineered to an exceptionally high standard, far surpassing what many manufacturers describe as “heavy duty.”

            Built for relentless, high-output work, these trailers are specifically designed to move 14 tonnes of material every 15 minutes, operating 12 hours a day, seven days a week without compromise.  Every model in the CT series features a fast-acting tipping body powered by multi-stage hydraulic rams that deliver a generous 60-degree tipping angle while using minimal hydraulic oil.  Strength, stability, and manoeuvrability are ensured by a full RHS chassis paired with a single-beam drawbar, creating a durable structure capable of handling severe workloads while still allowing an impressive turning circle.  Each trailer is equipped with a heavy-duty walking-beam tandem axle system that oscillates on a continuous 75 mm high-tensile pin, supported by six greaseable bushes, or eleven on larger models, all centrally lubricated as standard.  The pin is mounted 50 mm off-centre to minimise high-speed wobble when paired with modern high-speed tractors.

            Customers can choose between two body configurations.  The mono lift-off one-piece sides offer the versatility of converting the trailer into a flatbed for general or alternative tasks, while the fully welded monocoque “bath-tub” body provides superior strength for continuous bulk-haulage operations.  Both styles include fixed headboards with extension rails, adding both capacity and structural rigidity.  Tailgates are fully removable across all body types and can be configured as a hydraulic up-and-over door, a standard top-hinged door, or a double-swing door, depending on the user’s needs.

            For those involved in seasonal forage transport, a purpose-built silage kit is available either as a complete lift-off unit or as individual bolt-together panels.  This kit includes a front mesh window, optionally designed to fold down, and full rear doors incorporating a central one-third mesh section to make reversing while empty easier and safer.

            Wheel options allow the trailer to be configured for different operating environments: the standard 385/65R x 22.5 tyres are well suited to road work, the 445/65R x 22.5 tyres are ideal for high-speed quarry applications, and for operators needing reduced ground pressure, the 500/60R x 22.5 flotation tyres offer an excellent footprint while still performing well on the road.  For extremely soft or sensitive terrain, the larger 560/45R x 22.5 tyres are available to provide maximum flotation and stability.
