            Description

            The Contractor range of trailers is built to an exceptionally robust standard, well beyond what many manufacturers classify as “heavy duty.” 

            Engineered for relentless, high-demand environments, these trailers are specifically designed to move 12 tonnes of material every 15 minutes, operating 12 hours a day, seven days a week without compromise.  Each model in the CT range features a rapid-acting tipping body powered by efficient multi-stage hydraulic rams that deliver a generous 60-degree tip angle while using minimal oil.  Strength and manoeuvrability are maximised through the use of a full RHS chassis paired with a single-beam drawbar, providing outstanding durability and an impressive turning circle.  Every trailer comes standard with a heavy-duty walking-beam tandem axle system that oscillates on a continuous 75 mm high-tensile pin, supported by six greaseable bushes, or eleven on the larger models, all of which are centrally lubricated for convenience.  The pin itself is mounted 50 mm off-centre to help reduce speed wobble when paired with modern high-speed tractors.

            Customers can choose between two body configurations. The first option features one-piece sides that can be easily removed using a tractor front-end loader, allowing the trailer to be converted into a flatbed whenever different tasks or materials demand greater versatility.  The second option is a fully welded monocoque bathtub body, designed for constant, high-volume bulk haulage where strength and capacity are paramount.  Both body styles come standard with fixed headboards and extension rails for added practicality.

            Tailgates on both designs are fully removable and compatible with a range of door styles, whether a full hydraulic up-and-over door, a traditional top-hinged configuration, or a double-swing door.  For customers involved in seasonal silage work, a purpose-built silage kit is available, offered either as a one-piece lift-off assembly or as bolt-together panels. This kit includes a front mesh window, available with an optional fold-down feature, and full rear doors with a central one-third mesh section to improve visibility when reversing empty.

            Wheel options include the standard 385/65R x 22.5 wide road tyres (1080 mm diameter), chosen for their industrial-level performance, high-speed handling, strong load capacity, and excellent puncture resistance.  For operators requiring reduced ground pressure and enhanced flotation, the optional 500/45R x 22.5 tyres (1035 mm diameter) provide a wider footprint and are well suited to softer or more sensitive terrain.
